Ashley and Eric (and their fur baby Millie) had the most perfect cool, summer day to say their I Do’s at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. Shooting their wedding here was so special for us as it is where Brandon and I got married over a decade ago! It’s the perfect wedding venue whether you’re hosting hundreds or a small intimate party with close friends and family. Ashley and Eric did theirs elopement style with just family and close friends, complete with in intimate sit down dinner at Appalachia Kitchen, whose food was seriously amazing. It’s a new favorite spot on the mountain for us. Snowshoe Mountain is one of our most favorite spots in the Wild and Wonderful so anytime we get to spend there is a serious treat for us.
It was a nice break from the smothering summer temperatures at home in late August. We never broke 65 degrees all day and were actually shivering for their sunset portraits by the time the day closed out. They exchanged their vowels at the overlook behind The Mountain Lodge with Shaver’s Lake in the background tucked between the vast view of the Appalachian Mountains.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, you could feel the love and excitement as they watched two people they loved deeply join together as one forever.
